About Renee

Philosophy

I use a play based, responsive approach, meeting children where they are and creating individualized support for their needs. I believe the foundation of development starts with a trusting relationship. I am committed to helping children explore and grow while finding the joy in learning.

Learning starts with curiosity, exploration, & connection

Children teach us how important play is. They show us their curiosity, how they think, and what they are capable of through their play ideas, creativity with toys, and exploration with materials. When we join children in play, we enter into their world and create connection.

Education & Experience

I graduated with a dual master’s in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from NYU. For the last 15 years, I have been a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) working in pre schools across new york city, learning the ins and outs of the special education system (CPSE). As an early childhood development specialist, my focus is on supporting children’s cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical developmental domains, while guiding families to learn about the needs of their child.
